Making Money...

John and Joe go out and start separate businesses.  They both sell the same thing in the same market.  John makes $10,000 a month.  Joe makes $50,000 a month.  What could possibly cause such a great disparity?  If John charges $100 an hour, and Joe charges $75 an hour, how would that affect the income stream?  How many hours would John and Joe have to work each month to earn the monthly income?

Think...What else can be learned from this math problem?

Sound Matters...

If I were to tell you that a classroom had a range of Decibels from 26 dB to 100 dB, what would be the average of the decibels assuming that there were no extremes or long periods of highs or lows?

Money Matters...

If I tell you that we are going to invest $200 tomorrow, with a monthly contribution of $25 and an interest rate of 15% compounded monthly, how much money will be earned in 1 year, 10 years, and in 50 years?

Be sure to find all the variables.  Write out all the multipliers. Find the function.

Word Problem of the Day...

The problem of the Day...RJ through 47 meters at a track meets on Saturday.  If he throws increasingly 25% more for the next 2 meets, how far will he throw at each respective meet?  Take your time, Use a table.  Sow your work.

Pythagorean Theorem

This theory states the length of triangle times itself plus the width times itself equals the hypotenuse times itself.

In math terms lenth squared plus width squared = hypotenuse squared.

In numbers, 32 + 42 = 52

From there it becomes, 9 + 16 = 25.

Proving the formula does work of a2 + b2 = c

Given that information, what would be the perimeter of a rectangle measuring 8 feet in length and 6 feet in width.  Additionally, what would be the hypotenuse?  (screen size)

Have Fun.
